Coated wire is advantageous because it contains all the steel strands when it is cut. Thus, it is safer to use than uncoated wire.
Teflon coated stainless steel wire is non-stick, seriously, just like a frying pan! Teflon coated wire stops dirt and debris build-up on the stainless steel wire inside. This is very useful where a clean environment is essential.
This wire is used for hanging valves tags and equipment tags, but has other applications, e.g. cabling systems.
